First aid course! After some scares with Charlie, we did a great half day workshop on the Gold Coast with Sooz from CPR Kids, a nurse and very enthusiastic teacher. I’ve done first aid before but never had this much hands-on training.
There were lots of real-life stories and simulations. Am sleeping so much better now that I know how do to CPR and deal with accidents like burns, bites and concussions.
Learned a lot, e.g. that many drownings occur in inflatable pools with only a few inches of water, that dishwasher tablets should be kept high up (not under the sink) and that fevers alone are not always dangerous but are a healing reaction.
I can recommend CPR Kids’ book too – ‘A life. A finger. A pea up the nose.’ by Sarah Hunstead, published by Harper Collins Australia. It would be a great Xmas present for parents, carers and parents to be. Thanks Sooz and team for an entertaining and memorable class!
