Troy made a comeback after leaving the Brisbane Lions and returning to his home state of Victoria. At 28, he led the Geelong Cats VFL side to a premiership, then retired soon after.
Similarly at 28, Adam recovered from an infection to play for the East Perth Football Club for the first time in 5 years. He also retired after the 2013 season.
In his speech at Troy’s service (watch part of it here and above), Adam said “A twin is more than a sibling, they are a constant presence, a built-in best mate and someone who understands you in a way that no one ever could.
Troy wasn’t just my brother; he was my mirror, my fiercest competitor, my greatest ally and the one person that knew what I was always thinking.
Losing him has left a massive hole in my life.”
